NBC’s ‘The Voice’ spoilers: Blake Shelton / Cher, Christina Aguilera / Ed Sheeran pairings official

The latest -Even though the information about “The Voice” season 5’s advising teams first leaked on the internet a couple of weeks ago, NBC finally decided to make it official that Cher, Miguel, Ryan Tedder, and Ed Sheeran are going to be the singers teaming up with the coaches this year when it comes to the battle rounds. As for the pairings, Cher will make for a hilarious team with Blake Shelton, Ryan and Adam Levine will join forces (not too exciting here), Miguel will be with the crazy Cee Lo Green, and Sheeran will work with Christina Aguilera.

In a statement, NBC’s reality chief Paul Telegdy had the following to say about some of the teams that were selected, and how thrilled the coaches are seemingly to work with them:

“This group of wildly successful musicians will add their distinctive talents to their respective teams. I know Christina, Adam, CeeLo and Blake are very much looking forward to having them come aboard.”

What we find very strange here are the words “looking forward,” given that much of this footage for the upcoming season has already been shot over the course of this summer. Production is spaced out for “The Voice” so that contestants have time to prepare, and the coaches don’t have to take as long of a break in succession from touring / recording.

Do you like these pairings at all, or are you with us and believe that this entire phase of the competition is really just blander than oatmeal? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below!
