‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 4 spoilers: More potential Mona nastiness

The latest -If you were starting to completely think that Mona had indeed turned a corner on “Pretty Little Liars” during move of season 4, then you must have been tricked much like the Liars have been by her over the years. The vicious side of Mona is still very much there, and there will be some opportunities for it to come out in the second half of this season.

Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, executive producer Oliver Goldstick teases that there is going to be some sort of payoff to the story that we saw with Shana and Mona in the finale, and that it is still very important to remind yourself that she has it within her to be a completely awful human being:

“I’ve always said, Mona is a viscous little dumpling and no one should forget who she was in Seasons 1 and 2 — even if she has ‘redeemed’ herself or ‘absolved’ herself of some of those horrible deeds. She was still capable of them, and that’s important to remember.”

Apparently, this is going to be a season of many sides for Mona, given that Janel Parrish also talked recently about the possibility that her character could develop a love interest very soon. This love interest could either be someone new, or a character that has not yet surfaced in the now-infamous town of Rosewood. Either way, it feels like Mona’s position as one of the key players on the show is more cemented than it ever was before.

The second half of “Pretty Little Liars” season 4 will air starting in January, though you should be able to check out the Halloween special long before that this fall.
