‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 notes: New casting; Red Wedding reaction
Want some more casting news from “Game of Thrones” season 4? This is hardly going to be the sort of news that moves mountains, but it is something that is still nonetheless notable for those of you meticulous watchers out there.
According to a CV uncovered by show site Winter Is Coming, Elizabeth Webster is going to be playing the part of Walda Frey in at least one episode of the upcoming season. Walda is the new wife of Roose Bolton, who of course played a pretty terrible role in “The Rains of Castamere” last season as the Red Wedding started to get officially under way. The Bolton and Frey families are going to continue to have power in the new season, but what will their opposition be? Without saying much for those who have not read the books, there are some surprising developments ahead.
Meanwhile, Flicks and the City also has a pretty wonderful compilation below that features Maisie Williams, Charles Dance, and some other actors all reacting to the Red Wedding episode that aired, and what it meant to their characters. These people all seem to be very well aware at this point of the cultural impact that this hour of TV had on viewers. It was one of the most stunning events of the entire year, and it is what we believe will propel the show well into awards season yet again later this year.
