‘The X Factor’ USA / UK notes: Carly Rose Sonenclar, Emblem3, Louis Walsh

The latest -A Carly Rose reminder – We’ll start this “X Factor” notes piece with what, to fans of season 2’s Carly Rose Sonenclar, has to be the biggest news: She is performing tonight in New York City! Her concert at the Best Buy Theater has been hyped up for many weeks now, and it is one of her largest shows since performing on the competition last fall.

Hopefully, we will have an opportunity to have either some highlights later, which is being attended by many fans who live far outside of the New York area. She has been working on both original and familiar music for the concert, so it should be a treat for those who show up.

Emblem3 talks the future – Even though Emblem3 just scored a top 10 spot on the Billboard 200 with their debut “Nothing to Lose,” the trio is already starting to think about the road ahead, and a possible change of their image after going with a pop sound that was a little bit of a stretch from their roots.

Speaking to the publication, Wes Stromberg of the group said that they are already hoping to grow along with many of their younger fans, and adopt more of a rock-focused sound:

“The style that we were before ‘X Factor’ tried to be a little more edgy, but now we have to appeal to the masses, and our fan base is a lot younger… I’m trying to come out with a next [album] that’s harder than this one, though.”

What is going to be interesting here in the future is how the discussions will go between the label and the artists themselves for future music, since we assume that there will be some trade-off between commercial success and also staying true to yourself.

Spoiler alert! – One day after posting the first promo for the new season of “The X Factor” UK, we’ve had an opportunity to learn something else very important: Who is going to be working with who on the show moving forward. Gary Barlow has the groups for the first time, while Nicole Scherzinger is moving from the boys to the girls following her win with James Arthur. Sharon Osbourne has the Overs (the hardest category at present to win with), and Louis Walsh, surprisingly, has snagged the boys in what will be his final season.
