‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Heejun Han, Lee DeWyze, Allison Iraheta
Heejun’s video tease – What we’re excited about doing in this “American Idol” notes is casting the focus on two people in particular that we haven’t heard from much, beginning with our season 11 favorite in Heejun Han. We always thought that his personality and dedication would get him pretty far, and it has courtesy of a new single called “Bring the Love Back.”
Heejun is releasing this song under the Polaris label, which is based out of South Korea; however, his goal is to have a career singing American music, and thus we have a track that is English-language and sounds like a good slice of pop radio. We haven’t heard the full song, but what we have is fun and apparently features Kanye West collaborator Pusha T at some point. Watch the teaser for the upcoming music video below (via The Hollywood Reporter), and we’re hoping for some TV gigs so that the guy can show off the song and the personality.
Allison Iraheta – Allison’s now a part of the new pop-rock group Halo Circus, and they just scored a label in Manimal Vinyl and its imprint Badlands. We’ve followed Allison dating back to her days on the show and her touring spot with Adam Lambert, and now hearing that the group’s first single (per Yahoo! Music) will be “Gone.” It’s an exciting time to be an Allison fan, especially given that like with Heejun, it’s nice to see contestants from this show working hard to make this a career, and not just resting on their laurels from TV.
Jessica Sanchez goes blonde – Now, we turn to Jessica’s new look, which was first shared on Instagram by one of “American Idol’s” music gurus in Michael Orland. It’s definitely a different look, given that dark hair is what we knew her for both on this show and on “America’s Got Talent.”
This has been a much more complicated summer for Jessica than our other two singers that we’ve mentioned. We really dug her lead single “Tonight,” but for whatever reason Interscope never really bothered to push the song, and it hasn’t really gone anywhere because of that. There’s no word yet on if she will have a second single off of her debut “Me, You, & the Music, and what that song would end up being.
A Lee DeWyze reminder – Just a quick note that Lee’s next album “Frames” is now taking pre-orders. Pick up the Deluxe Edition on iTunes, and for a really great price you get acoustic versions of the songs.

I hope Jessica will be supported because of her unique talent. There are very few Asian/Hispanics in the music business and I pray that Jessica will be given at least support from the music community.

Stunning new look and her new blond hair actually enhances her features, this will all be good publicity for her. I would not have a problem if she changed back at some point as she is very beautiful regardless, but people who do not like change are often stuck in the mud and out of tune with modern fashion trends. Jessica is doing what any 17 year old should doing and exploring fashion and different styles, she as an innate fashion sense, but she is also lucky to have some of he top stylists to advice her.

Jessica is growing up and exploring her look I think its daring and make her stand out, reminds me of female k-pop artists. She looks great as always IMO.

Going blonde is whitewashing. Blonde hair does not suit Jessica Sanchez or other Filipinas. I will still remember her for her dark hair. It takes away from her face. Charice Pempengco did that as well.

Charice change of hair style was more a statement about her sexuality than anything else, many people did not like that (especially in the Philippines), so you cannot compare the two.
Your comment seems to be racially motivated and have nothing to do with modern fashion trends (Blond hair is the in thing right now). I have little time for such comments or the people that make them, and I am sure Jessica would feel the same.

Jessica Sanchez has been known for her dark hair since her days as a YouTube singer and her time on American Idol. For my comments being racially motivated, going blonde supports narrow White ideals of beauty. Jessica is not trying to change her looks for fame. A closer look shows that she sporting an ombré look. I just prefer her with her natural black hair since it is what she is classically known for.

You are 100% racist. JS just wants to change her hair colour and follow the fashion trend that is going around at the moment, but you are trying to blow it out of all proportion because of your racist views. Many blond haired girls have dyed their hair black, do you have a problem with that? You are using Jessica to promote your own racist views.
