‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: The premiere title and a new face
Have you been hankering for some serious “How I Met Your Mother” season 9 scoop? We understand, given that there has been a long wait ever since the news of Cristin Milioti’s promotion to series regular was first announced.
Luckily, we do have some news now that makes much of the waiting worth it: The title of the September 23 premiere! According to a report from TVLine, the episode will be entitled “The Locket,” which should bear as a clue what we saw from the show at the end of season 8. We are also getting set to meet a new character in Camille, described as a strong Hispanic or African-American woman in her 30s or 40s ends up having a verbal altercation with Marshall on board his flight from Minnesota to New York City. How bad is it? Let’s just say that the two parties are escorted off of the plane.
While this is somewhat-juicy on its own, there is also the possibility that there is some sort of other tie between Camille and Marshall that is still to be revealed. Could it be work-related? It’s possible, given that Marshall has an opportunity to enter a new phase of his career, and it is one that does not involve him moving to Italy as he once planned to do with Lily.
The show is still reasonably early in the writing process, and some more news should be announced in the next month leading up to production starting and the cast returning to work.
What’s your take on the title? In case you haven’t heard the legen … dary news about the show’s upcoming Comic-Con panel, be sure to check it out here … and you’re welcome.

This locket business is ridiculous. Barney & Robin and Ted & the Mother are the ones ending up together and they need to let well enough alone with this Ted still wanting Robin nonsense. That was 6 years ago. She told him pointblank she doesn’t love him and she’s marrying another guy.

I hope the thing with the locket leads the the closure between Ted and Robin’s former relationship. Everyone always complains that “Ted just needs to get over it,” but let’s be real…these kinds of situations happen all the time in real life. Their friendship is one not many people are eager to have after a breakup and it’s very genuine, and has all made a lot of sense. Considering the point of the whole series – meeting the mother – it’s important to see how he truly and finally parts with the idea of Robin and finds his true sole-mate. It should be an interesting season…I’m excited to see how they wrap it up. There’s still so many questions to be answered and even though I’ve been a Ted/Robin fan since episode 1 I really want to see how the incredible, genius writers of this show end them.
