‘Girls’ season 3 spoilers: Andrew Rannells teases return to show

In the middle of all of your discussions / arguments over the third season of “Girls,” it is possible that you missed the detail that Andrew Rannells, whose participation in season 2 was limited thanks to “The New Normal,” is going to be back as Elijah for at least one episode and maybe more. (Lena Dunham is always super-secretive when it comes to the specifics for her characters.)

What you should watch out for is at least the possibility of seeing way more of Andrew than you ever saw on his NBC comedy produced by Ryan Murphy. A few days ago, the actor tweeted out something that is basically a part of HBO shows in the same way the MTV has drunk people: Waivers to be in various forms of disrobe. This guarantees the network that Rannells (or whoever, depending on the actor) will not wig out if someone aboard the show asks him to bare it all for a scene. On a show like this, you really have to be prepared for anything.

Andrew should already be pretty familiar with steamy scenes on this show, given that his horribly awkward hook-up (if you can call it that) with Allison Williams’ Marnie was one of the more notable moments during the earlier part of season 2. It’s something that probably still causes a good many people out there to cringe watching it, simply because it is a gay man getting so drunk that he decides to completely disrespect not only his supposed boyfriend, but also himself. This moment ultimately led to he and Hannah going their separate ways as roommates.
