‘The X Factor’ USA: Fifth Harmony’s ‘Miss Movin’ On’ preview, Perrie Edwards, and more

The X Factor LogoYou’ve been hearing about the release of Fifth Harmony’s “Miss Movin’ On” pretty much all week long, and the song is going to premiere on Romeo’s Saturday Night Online show Saturday night at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. Just in case you can’t wait, though, we have something for you now: The first 30-second preview of the song!

The clip below was posted onto SoundCloud, and it presents a clearer direction of what Lauren, Dinah Jane, Ally, Normani, and Camila are hoping to do with the track: Present a pop-heavy anthem about empowerment, and try to get into that same vein of music that has made many other “X Factor” groups (see Little Mix, Emblem3, or One Direction) so successful. We don’t want to make a full assessment on the song without hearing the full version, mostly because a song can be shaped to a certain degree by the content of the versus as well as the chorus. Granted, be sure to still share what you think of the track below.

In speaking of Little Mix … our second story today focuses on a line that band member Perrie Edwards gave recently in regards to Kelly Rowland judging the third season of “The X Factor” in America. As you may remember, the one-time member of Destiny’s Child was the judge on the British version of the show back in 2011, when the group won as a member of Tulisa’s team. To this date, they remain the only winner of the British show to come from the groups category.

Speaking to MTV News, Perrie was rather complimentary when it comes to Kelly’s abilities:

“She’s a really good judge … She’s such a lovely, lovely person. She’s just amazing and she’s lovely to look at as well when you’re singing. She’s beautiful.”

We know that Kelly can be a good judge, but after seeing the past two seasons of this show, we’re reserving judgment on everything until we see chemistry. After all, this is what made Nicole Scherzinger awful in America, but sha-mazing (to borrow one of her words) in Britain.
