NBC’s ‘The Voice’ winner Cassadee Pope has impressive first-week sales
While we can’t say for certain just yet that Cassadee Pope’s new single “Wasting All These Tears” is going to actually be a breakout hit, the reigning champion of “The Voice” is at least doing far better than any of the other contestants who have been a part of the show in the past.
For its first full week of sales, the former member of Blake Shelton’s team has sold 125,000 copies, which has put the song at #3 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Not only that, but she also made a debut on the Hot 100 at #37, which is very impressive for a debut single after a reality show.
Cassadee has also managed to find ways to promote herself better than most of the other former contestants on “The Voice.” She has performed on the singing-competition, and also had an opportunity to have a few seconds of her song featured at the CMT Music Awards. Many other reality country-music stars also saw their sales boosted thanks to this show, including Kree Harrison from “American Idol” and also a certain country megastar known as Carrie Underwood. (Then again, she is famous enough now that her relation to the singing competition barely comes up anymore.)
Cassadee’s full debut album will come out later this year, and we’re sure that she will continue to promote it at radio stations across the country preparing for its launch.
Have you picked up Pope’s single, and do you think that we are looking at a possible hit here? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below!
