‘The X Factor’ USA / UK notes: Fifth Harmony, James Arthur, Emblem3

LyricsFor this “X Factor” notes, we’re putting the focus on three acts that we consider right now to be some of the strongest that the show has produced within the last year, and we’ll start things off with a group in Fifth Harmony who Simon Cowell does seem to have a great deal of confidence in right now.

The photo attached here shows you the first lyrics from the girl group’s debut single “Miss Movin’ On.” The metaphor structure here actually reminds us of the “bounce like a basketball” lyric from Demi Lovato’s “Heart Attack,” which is probably good in that this is a similar sort of audience that the ladies are probably trying to reach. It’s pretty clear right now that “Miss Movin’ On” is meant to be the sort of girl-power “you don’t need a guy to be happy” anthem for this generation, and there’s a sort of meaning here that actually seems somewhat reminiscent of how in the Spice Girls’ first hit “Wannabe,” where friendship mattered to them more so than relationships.

Emblem3 goes behind the scenes – Want to see how another “X Factor” group in Emblem3 filmed their recent music video for “Chloe (You’re the One I Want)”? Check out the video below for all of the scoop. Plus, there’s at least one funny moment in here involving milk and “nap time” for everyone who loves to see the guys give each other a hard time.

James Arthur hypes new music – Brace yourself: Our favorite “X Factor” winner is getting ready to finally release some new music. On Monday, the reigning champ posted the following message on Twitter, which should be enough to give plenty of you out there hope for what lies ahead:

“Exciting meetings at Sony today.. I think we have our single! Time to get a bit wound up I think I’m excited to finally give you new music!!”
