‘Switched at Birth’ season 2 spoilers: What lies ahead this summer?

After a few quiet weeks following the Memorial Day weekend, “Switched at Birth” is going to help usher in the summer TV season with its premiere on Monday night. There’s quite a lot to get into when it comes to the second part of season 2, but we want to just talk about a few things that should allow for all sorts of interesting conversation.

For one, where does the relationship go now when it comes to Daphne and Bay? For whatever reason, these two just cannot seem to get on the same page no matter how hard they try. Luckily, Vanessa Marano seems to suggest to TV Guide in a new interview that something is coming that could help the two parties work out some of their struggles:

“The struggle with Daphne and Bay is that they want to be close and then the jealousy sets in. Their relationship gets pretty rocky … But then they find a way to bond towards the end over boys again. [Bay’s ex] Ty is back and Daphne gets a fabulous new love interest who is British.”

Something else that we are looking forward to seeing in general this summer? Just that: Summer. For the first time in the show’s history, we’re going to see a handful of episodes all about how these families spend the months away from school, which is a welcome change for any show set in a school environment. As a matter of fact, we wish that more shows would be bold enough to try something like this out.
