‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 notes: Allen Leech and Elizabeth McGovern
Sadly, there is no breaking news when it comes to “Downton Abbey” this week that will blow your socks off. News has a tendency to ebb and flow to a certain degree, and if every single item you read on the internet was intended to shock and stun you, then you would eventually grow numb to it. Therefore, this story is a little bit more focused on a pair of small but still-interesting items.
We’ll start with Elizabeth McGovern, who is somewhat late in the game when it comes to commenting on the recent viral video that rapper / music mogul Diddy acted in to spoof the show earlier this year. In a post on her Twitter, she described the video (which you can watch here) as “very very funny,” which is certainly something that we agree with.
So what is the real significance of this comment? Basically, it proves yet again that the love of “Downton Abbey” extends beyond just the viewers, and the cast members almost appreciate it equally. You always want to have a warm sort of family environment when crafting a series, and “Downton Abbey” has figured out a way in which to pull this off.
In other, random news, Allen Leech has somehow managed to find the shape of Ireland on Highclere Castle! We figure he must have had some downtime on a recent filming day at the real-life Downton Abbey, as he posted the photo here on his social-media account, and also shared a link to an account designed to point out things that bear resemblance to the country.
This has been a fun past couple of weeks for Leech, who also recently had an opportunity to spend some time with Dan Stevens, otherwise known as the man behind the dearly-departed Matthew Crawley. Hopefully, the man is done now apologizing for his death so that he can focus on the more entertaining things in life.
