‘Mad Men’ season 6: Jessica Pare talks deep attachment to Megan Draper

On this past “Mad Men” episode, Don Draper finally did something that many fans would have wanted to see weeks ago: Actually try to be good to his wife. Granted, it was still after he came to terms with the fact that not only does Sylvia have no interest in being with him anymore, but his ex-wife Betty feels the same despite her one-night stand with him that allowed her to close the door on Don for good.

So are Megan and Don going to be together at the end of this season? We do have our doubts, but if there is one person out there who is hurting more than us for the character, it’s Jessica Pare. As a matter of fact, she tells AMC that she has a rather visceral reaction in many ways to the ways in which Jon Hamm’s character tends to treat her on a regular basis:

“I am really attached to Megan now. I really love her so much. [Laughs] So, there’s a part of me that’s like, “How could you do that to Megan?”

While there are a good many people out there already who have admitted to actually being excited to see the old Don Draper come back in some shape or form, Pare is not one of them (and neither are we). Of course, it’s possibly because she is seeing the writing on the wall: If something happens to her character, what would it mean for her own future on the show?
