‘Homeland’ season 3 spoilers: ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ ‘Boardwalk Empire’ alum cast
After a traumatic event like the bombing at the end of “Homeland” season 2, you’re probably going to need some sort of professional help if you are some of these characters. Luckily, it appears that this will be on the way for Claire Danes’ Carrie, Mandy Patankin’s Saul, and anyone else who needs it when season 3 picks up on Showtime September 29.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Aaron Baker, whose credits include the HBO hit “Boardwalk Empire,” is set to appear as Dr. Harlan, who will work to try and assess the mental state of some of the CIA’s finest (otherwise known as the CIA’s remaining) in the wake of the terrorist attack. For Baker, this has to be a pretty fantastic feeling, to go from one Emmy-nominated series to another.
There are some other notable guest stars appearing on the upcoming season, including some of the following:
-Nazanin Boniadi (“How I Met Your Mother”) cast as Fara, an extremely intelligent analyst who will fool people with her youthful appearance.
-Gary Wilmes (“Louie”) as Dr. Richardson, who will be a psychiatrist trying to help Dana Brody with what are sure to be some mountain-sized anxiety issues in the wake of what her father did.
-Sam Underwood as Leo, a new friend to Dana who has some sort of troubled past. (Is this yet another “girl falls for the bad boy” story? We hope not.)
“Homeland” will start shooting this month in North Carolina, which is the reason for the casting avalanche. The nice thing about how Showtime is handling this is that even though they are being kind enough to give us some details, there is still a certain element of surprise to the whole thing given that there is more to each character than meets the eye.
There is some more casting information regarding Carrie getting an attorney from earlier this week, so be sure to check that out here if you haven’t already.
