ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 spoilers: Could Huck and Quinn hook up?
There were a number of great performances across “Scandal” season 2, and the following is not meant by any means as a slam against some of the people who did an outstanding job on the show. Guillermo Diaz was simply a standout, and someone we will probably talk about when it’s time for our Emmy Preview series that takes place beginning early next month. His scenes as Huck were gripping physically and emotionally, especially when we went into his past and found out everything that he was forced to leave behind.
While we suppose it is feasible that Shonda Rhimes could write into the story a way for him to find his former family, there is also the large “Huckleberry Quinn” fan-base out there that wants him and Katie Lowes’ characters to suddenly get some personal chemistry to go along with their professional bond. Will it actually happen? That is still unclear, but Diaz tells Zap2It that if the writers go in this direction, he is very much down to give it a go:
“I would like to see him trying to get better. Like, in the beginning [of Season 2,] you kind of saw him going to meetings — AA meeting for alcohol, [because] there’s no meetings for torture — but I’d love to see him really continue to try and be a better man and stop killing people and see where that goes. Maybe find another love interest. That would be kind of cool.”
If something does happen here, we don’t think it will suddenly pop up at the start of the season. These are two very damaged people, and it is going to take time to send all of their demons down to the underworld. (Someone should call the Winchesters from “Supernatural” for some help with that.) Much like Alex and Jo on Rhimes sister show “Grey’s Anatomy,” though, it is possible that she could allow it to happen over time.
We’re currently all things “Scandal,” and with that in mind, be sure to check out the link here to read some of what Kerry Washington has to say about the episodes ahead.
