‘American Idol’ winner Candice Glover lands support of ‘Glee’s’ Naya Rivera, more
It’s been quite a few days for Candice Glover, and it’s really hard to put everything in perspective (and we can only imagine how crazy / intense this all must be on her end).
So what has she been up to since wrapping “American Idol” on Thursday night? Quite a bit, really. First and foremost, she stopped by “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Friday, where she shared a pretty interesting story. Back when she made it pretty far on season 9 (which was eventually won by Lee DeWyze), Simon Cowell told her that she was not going to amount to anything more than a lounge singer, performing while people ate peanuts and turned their heads slightly to look at her. Clearly, she didn’t care for the remark, but she took the high road here and said that getting put on blast by the music mogul was one of the best things that could have happened to her in her career.
Now, we’re pretty sure that Candice is going to be just fine. She has the support of multiple “Glee” stars (including Naya Rivera and Amber Riley), of course her “American Idol” season 11 pals Jessica Sanchez and DeAndre Brackensick (who should have gotten to perform that crazy Vegas performance with her all over again, given how incredible it was), and various celebrities all over the place. With her debut album “Music Speaks” coming out on July 16, hopefully she will still be fresh enough in the minds of these people that she gets the exposure she deserves.
Our “American Idol” coverage of course doesn’t stop here. If you want to also check out what some of the show’s past stars had to say about the exit of Randy Jackson from the judging panel, be sure to check out the story over here.
