‘Britain’s Got Talent’: Simon Cowell, David Walliams manage new season high
Another week passes on “Britain’s Got Talent, and Simon Cowell has managed to find himself yet another reason the smile. Why? Thanks to what we think is the strength of the judging panel, who seems to realize that this is a potential for fun rather than pettiness (which puts it above some other reality shows currently on the air).
For the latest edition of the ITV competition, which really has not featured any sort of Susan Boyle-like act this time around, we saw a grand total of 10.9 million viewers check in including the +1 figures. This marks the highest viewer total of the season, and we know that any producer applauds at the idea of any show actually managing to increase its numbers in the weeks following the premiere.
Also more impressive here? That Cowell continues to put a massive “Street Fighter”-esque beat down on “The Voice” UK, its onetime major rival when it came to viewers. Following the start of the battle rounds (otherwise known as the round of the competition nobody really likes), the show dropped over half a million viewers to score 7.4 million. If “The Voice” UK keeps this, we’re sure that their own executives will probably still be pretty happy. It’s a better total than we really expected still for the show given some of the viewer reaction last season, which was largely a mix of “ugh” and “really?” It’ll be interesting to see if the show keeps some sort of momentum the rest of the way without the spinning-chair gimmick still around.
If you’re reading this article, then we’re sure that you are probably enjoying “Britain’s Got Talent” this season. With that in mind, why not take a look at our most-recent episode review?
