‘Supernatural’ season 8 finale spoilers: More on Amanda Tapping’s Naomi

All season long on “Supernatural,” Misha Collins’ character of Castiel has found himself in a rather unusual position, even for a guy like him. While he is back in the real world rather than in purgatory, he is by and large still firmly under the spell of a certain female angel in Naomi. She has been shrouded in mystery for quite a long time now, but her purpose thus far has been to largely pull the strings on Castiel in an effort to further not only her own interests, but those in the collective of Heaven that is currently in power.

While we don’t know for sure whether or not the story for Amanda Tapping’s character will be over by the time the finale airs a week from Wednesday, executive producer Jeremy Carver does promise (per Zap2It) that there is still plenty of story to tell for the character:

“You’re definitely going to see much more of Naomi … I think what we have now is a slightly incomplete picture of who this angel is and what she wants. I think that is something that will continue to be refined.”

What we can tell you for about the finale right now is that Castiel and Metatron (Curtis Armstrong) are going to try to team up in an effort to take Naomi down a notch or two, but as for whether or not this is going to happen, that is an entirely different story. With Misha’s new status as a series regular this fall, it is clear that there is much more of his story left to tell.
