‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: Watch Robin frighten children

Monday night ultimately begins the road to the “How I Met Your Mother” finale with “Something Old,” an episode that holds a lovely bit of symmetry with a certain episode from earlier on in the series’ run entitled “Something Borrowed.” (Isn’t it nice to see how well the show planned all of this out?)

So what’s going to happen in this hour? You really get a sense of it just by looking at the photo here. Robin is going to frighten some poor children and their mother by digging feverishly in a park. What in the world is she doing? Based on what we’ve heard about with this episode already, she is commencing a search in order to try and find something that she previously buried there when she first arrived to New York years ago. It’s clearly important to her wedding to Barney, since she would otherwise not be scrambling out of control in order to find it.

The next episode after this one will be entitled “Something New,” but we have a feeling that this title may attribute more to Ted than Barney and Robin. The wedding is looking less and less likely to appear on this season, which means instead that we are probably going to get even more of a sense of how he is getting closer to the day he meets the woman that will someday be his wife. We already know that she will be at the wedding as a performer rather than a guest, and that the two will share some sort of moment at a station after the event happens.
