ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2, episode 20 preview: Fitz’s manipulation of Olivia
Mellie has moved out of the White House on “Scandal,” and has left her husband Fitz with a rather testy ultimatum: Either commit to your family once and for all, or face some very nasty consequences.
Based on the first sneak peek that we have for the appropriately-titled “A Woman Scorned” (which you can see below), it looks almost as though the President has resigned himself to being bad as an alternative to trying to be good. Do we agree with this strategy? How could we, since it’s awful on just about every count? It feels almost as though he is really setting himself up for a huge fall, and he almost wants for it to happen based on how real and how serious some of Mellie’s threats are.
As for the actual content of this video, Fitz and Olivia are engaging in a phone conversation, one in which she tries to get him to get his personal pet Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) to back off. However, he’s not having anything of it. Instead, he wants to talk to her about the fact that Mellie has moved out, but she’s not having anything to do with it. Therefore, he tells her that he in turn is not going to have anything to do with the fact that Jake is bothering her.
This easily has to go down as one of the weirdest and most awkward love triangles of all time, especially since it really feels like we are just continually watching people be awful to one another time and time again while Olivia is caught in the middle of it. Personally, we’re hoping for some sort of closure soon.
