‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Carly Rose Sonenclar interview; Emblem3 hits the charts
While there may not be too much in the way of “X Factor” news to break today, there are still a pair of interesting headlines coming out now when it comes to two acts who made it big on this past season.
Let’s start with Carly Rose Sonenclar, who got a rather big opportunity this week to appear on “Good Day NY” for what was a pretty substantial interview (at least for TV standards). She opened up on a variety of topics in here that we haven’t really heard much of in other interviews, including whether or not she plans to ever be home-schooled to pursue music full-time, how she met Selena Gomez through the two having the same agent, her upcoming concert, and the cover video that she is working on (which will hopefully be out soon). She also shared the five acts that she is currently a huge fan of: Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Ellie Goulding, Adele, and Maroon 5. Of the group, she’s actually met more than one of them already. (Impressive, no?)

Airplay news – Now, let’s turn to the big news that Emblem3 has become the first “X Factor” USA alum since Chris Rene (and second overall) to have a single chart top pop radio. While the group’s “Chloe (You’re the One I Want)” has yet to enter the coveted “Top 40” that so many in the recording business talk about, it has made it to #46 with 397 spins. Not bad for a new act that has received most of its publicity through touring. This really goes along with our belief that Syco for whatever reason is being extremely cautious when it comes to actually supporting some of their stars after the show.

It debuted at #20 with 16,188 sold according to the final numbers.
Which is a chart bomb. Wouldn’t be surprised if he was dropped.
