ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: Could Huck’s past come back in the present?

While we have seen countless story-lines time and time again about Olivia Pope in the world of “Scandal,” but the story revolving around Huck in the episode Thursday night was in a word devastating. We found out some very shocking and tragic things about the character, including that it was once his dream to settle down and have a family, only for it to later be taken away from him thanks in part to breaking the government program’s rules about staying single and alone.

So after this dramatic sequence of flashbacks, there is of course one question that inevitably comes back up: Is it possible that we will someday see Huck’s onetime wife and child again? We know that they are still out there, and there may be some mutual interest eventually in tracking each other down in an effort to learn the truth. Guillermo Diaz was asked this very question in an interview with Vulture, and he had the following to say on the subject of if we will see this family again:

“I can’t imagine Huck’s wife and his son not coming back. How can they not? To give us all that info about his family and not have them come back in would be …”

As for whether or not they return this season, that is an entirely different question considering that there is still so much ground to cover on the show. We have what is going on with Huck and Quinn, and that is without even getting into much detail about Olivia and Fitz, what is going on with Jake, or Mellie’s ultimatum.
