‘Supernatural’ season 8, episode 21 preview: Sam and Dean feel the pain of the trials

SupernaturalSam Winchester may have managed to complete two trials, but the longer he goes on waiting for the third, the worse off he will become.

So what is going on the sneak peek below for Wednesday night’s “The Great Escapist”? Aside from what is rather obvious on the surface, it’s hard to say. The clip starts with Dean bringing his brother some of his father’s famous stew, which judging by its name is almost sure to be something built up of just random things he found in his kitchen. Sam in turn is quick to reject it, which hilariously causes Dean to try and spoon-feed it to him.

At the end of the day, Jared Padalecki’s character just does not seem interested in trying out Dean’s newest creation, and it doesn’t have anything to do with what he made. The man has not eaten in three days, and he claims to feel something changing within him following the competition of the first two trials. He certainly doesn’t look like he is in any shape to really prepare for a third one, but this is still something he has to do in order to complete the journey that he has been on over the past several weeks.

So will Sam recover by the end of this episode? All we can say on the matter is that things are going to get worse for him before they get better. As a matter of fact, he may even be visited from at least one ghost from his past during “Clip Show,” the episode airing a week after this one.

What do you think about this video, and do you think that there is any way Dean can actually help Sam? If you want to check out a promo for Wednesday’s “Supernatural” season 8 episode that gives you a taste of Misha Collins’ Castiel, you can do so over here!
