‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 spoilers: New casting tease via Kurt Sutter
Since “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter knows that we’re itching for some of the latest season 6 casting scoop, he was kind enough to hand down a few tidbits at the end of his recent Q&A session with fans on Twitter. It’s cryptic, but also wonderful when it comes to what it could mean for the show:
“my final tweet for the blogosphere. closed a deal with a great actor to play a new character… a renaisance (sic) man playing a renegade cop.”
We’re not even going to begin to speculate on who this could be, mostly because there are a ton of brilliant actors Sutter could use to fill this role. The only thing we know is that it’s a man, and probably someone that TV fans have heard of before. The rest of the details will come whenever someone makes the official announcement.
We’re now at the point where we are weeks rather than months away from the start of season 6 production, which means that there will be some more behind-the-scenes details coming in along the way. One of the joys of following a show from a season’s inception to completion is how you see everything build, from the initial meetings in the writers’ room to the wrap party at the very end. There is no confirmed premiere date just yet for the new season, but we expect it to be in mid-September, since that is usually the case for the show so there is enough time to run it straight through before the holiday season gets going in full swing.
While there has yet to be an announcement pertaining to any new characters being cast, we know already that Donal Logue, Drea de Matteo, and Jimmy Smits are all set to reprise their roles in the new season. This new character announced by Sutter is not the only new face that will be arriving in the “Sons of Anarchy” world this season, but we’ll have to wait and see who else might show up on the new season.
