‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 finale spoilers: Why is Ian Somerhalder in danger?

If there is one word that we can use right now to describe the finale for “The Vampire Diaries” season 4, it’s “intense”. The fate of a number of characters is hanging in the balance and there are going to be some pretty substantial moments for all of the characters, just as there will also be everything from ghosts, surprising pairings, to even the subject of graduation. That pesky place known as high school is finally going to be gone from the world of the show, which leaves all of the characters with a rather curious question: Where do they go from here?

“On Graduation Day, Mystic Falls is overrun with ghosts intent on settling old scores. Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) life is in danger after a ghostly encounter, while Matt (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) join forces to battle a ghost determined to find the cure. Finally, Stefan (Paul Wesley) discovers a horrifying clue to the mystery surrounding Silas.”

As of right now, the storylines that intrigue us the most are the following two:

1. Damon somehow being put in a position where his life could be in jeopardy … and it is all thanks to a ghost?

2. Anything that manages to bring together Matt and Rebekah in our books has to be a major cause for celebration.
