‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 speculation: When could the premiere date be?

The Walking DeadIf you are a massive fan of “The Walking Dead,” odds are you know already a basic time frame as to when season 4 is going to premiere on AMC: October of this year. This is when the show has always premiered on the network, and there is ultimately no reason whatsoever for this to change now since the formula has produced the #1 show on cable (and the #1 drama series on all TV).

If you want more specifics, though, you’ve come to the right place! AMC has created a pretty interesting model for themselves this year, since they do not want to put themselves in a situation where they have their Sunday-night lineup devoid of any new content for long stretches of time. Just look, for example, into how “The Walking Dead” season 3 led directly into “Mad Men,” and then how “Mad Men” will eventually be joined by “The Killing,” which will transition into “Breaking Bad.”

So here are the dates you need to know: the final eight episodes of “Breaking Bad” begin on Sunday, August 11 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. Presuming that the show airs an episode a week and does not opt to bundle any of the episodes together, the likely series finale we are looking at here is Sunday, September 29.

Does this mean that “The Walking Dead” could start the next week on October 6? Not so fast. “Low Winter Sun” will be airing right after “Breaking Bad” starting with its premiere, and the freshman series has an order of ten episodes. Therefore, the earliest we could probably see a “Walking Dead” premiere is October 20, or the 13th if the show opts for a two-hour finale on October 6. The 13th and the 20th are clearly the two ideal premiere dates for the zombie drama, since this ensures that there is a buildup to Halloween, and that the first eight episodes are over before we get too deep into the holiday season.

Do you think that the right launch date for “The Walking Dead” is one of the dates mentioned above? If you want to read some more scoop pertaining to The Governor, you can do so over at the link here.
