‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 spoilers: More on Leonard’s finale decision

Big Bang TheoryIn a world like the one on “The Big Bang Theory” where so much has a tendency to stay consistent, it almost throws even more weight on big decisions when they do come up. Luckily, we’re going to be seeing quite a few moving forward this season. Not only is Sheldon going to have to figure out how far he is willing to go with Amy, but in the season 6 finale next month, Leonard has a key choice to make when he gets offered a job overseas: does he take it, and if so, what happens to his world back home?

Executive producer Steven Molaro addressed this problem with TVLine, and explained that Leonard really does have quite a bit riding on the line with this choice.

“Leonard and Penny are in the best place they have been since they started dating … He’s a little nervous, because he doesn’t want anything to get screwed up.”

We will know by the end of the episode whether or not Leonard decides to take the offer, and how much Penny is going to miss him if he is gone. But is the job permanent? That is still a little bit unclear. This is hardly the first time that we have seen a season-ending storyline regarding someone going away for a time, but with the stories involving the North Pole and Howard going into space, it was very clear that their time away did have a firm expiration date. Even if this job offer does have an end date, he could still be gone for quite a long time … and will Penny really be willing to wait for him? This will surely be weighing heavily on Leonard’s mind.

If you were in Leonard’s shoes, what would you do? If you want to also check out some more news on “The Big Bang Theory” in the context of “Dungeons & Dragons,” be sure to check out the story over at the link here.
