‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4, episode 19 preview: Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley’s chat
On Thursday night, “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 is going to be back on the air with “Pictures of You,” and this is going to be an hour that tries to answer one important question: can Elena Gilbert really be saved, or is she doomed to be a ruthless vampire for the rest of her days?
The newest sneak peek below via The CW at least gives us some sort of idea as to what is going to be coming up on this issue. Through a conversation between Damon and Stefan Salvatore, we learn that it has been nine days since Elena has killed anyone, and they are formulating a plan to get her to never do it again. The twist? If she learns that anyone is trying to either give her the cure or force her humanity switch to turn back on, she’ll just start killing again.
Ultimately, this leads to there being two feasible solutions that Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley’s characters come up with:
1. Try and bombard her with as many emotions as they can (otherwise known as the “Lexi strategy”), hoping that one of them sticks and she will try to start emotionally dealing with everything that she has gone through of late.
2. Lock her up in a room, and them not release her until they really figure out what to do or until they see signs of progress.
3. Something else that they will think up on a later date.
Let’s just hope that Elena manages to control herself for the Mystic Falls prom; after all, who wants to see blood hit the dance floor on the most special night of any high schooler’s life?
