‘Veep’ season 2 video: Preview the season with Selina Meyer’s greatest hits
If you thought that having only a ten-episode first season of “Girls” was bad last year, then the eight-episode season of “Veep” was almost insufferable. Just when the Julia Louis-Dreyfus series was really starting to pick up steam, it came to a close with an episode that suggested that more trouble and scandal was going to be on the way for her soon.
So can you expect some of that to arrive in the Vice-President’s office when the show starts airing in a week? You can definitely count on it. For now, though, we’re not getting much insight about the show at all courtesy of its latest teaser video. Instead, what this really amounts to more so than anything else is a series of questions about whether or not the President called. Selina, despite being a grown woman, is very much someone in need of approval and of constant reassurance, and we’re sure that there is a part of her that cries a little inside over the fact that she never quite gets what she wants via the Commander-In-Chief.
We know that there will be some more interaction this season between her and the President, as we will have some more characters brought in to correspond with her. However, we’re not counting on actually being able to see the man in charge this year, and that is actually one of the show’s funny quirks like Wilson hiding behind the fence on “Home Improvement.” The show’s not really about him, after all, and instead about how his actions impact the veep’s office.
