‘Two and a Half Men’ season 10, episode 20 review: Jaime Pressly’s back for more

Two and a Half MenAlthough “Two and a Half Men” is technically a scripted comedy, there were parts of this week’s episode where we did feel like this was a part of the “Jerry Springer Show.” It was a pretty cheesy story, and the saddest part was that it focused on a character in Jake who’s really just not interesting anymore. Why? The Angus T. Jones scandal from earlier this year aside, the Jake stories typically just revolve around one thing: he shows up home following a stint in the Army, talks about his love life, loses a love interest, and then leaves.

Basically, what we learned through the story here was that Jake for whatever reason cheated on Tammy (Jaime Pressly) with her daughter, and of course she confronted him about it and the fighting began. There was a pretty hefty dose of screaming, Tammy’s daughter showed up, punches were thrown, and at the end of the day Jake learned a lesson.

We understand that “Two and a Half Men” is pretty mindless TV, and pretty much every episode is the same. At the end of the day, don’t we want to see the characters evolve somewhat? Seeing Walden Schmidt midway through this season was fun and interesting as he really found someone in Kate he cared for; now, he seems to be misplaced, and Alan’s features as the annoying freeloader are heightened more than ever. It’s not a good look.

The other thing that was completely ridiculous? An appearance of a car dealership owner as an ex-boyfriend of Tammy’s daughter, and it really had little to do with anything. This episode was pure filter, and at the end of the day, we’re not sure we even needed to know that Tammy and Jake didn’t work out. Not only that, but Tammy’s daughter left him for the car dealer. Ugh.

What did you think about this episode, and was this really one of those times where you really wanted to groan after sitting through this? If you want to read some more news pertaining to the upcoming “Two and a Half Men” finale, you can do so over at the link here.
