‘Dancing With The Stars’ 16 review: Are Dorothy Hamill, Victor Ortiz and Wynonna Judd in trouble?
The first round of dances were completed by the stars and their pro dancers last week on the premiere of “Dancing With The Stars” 16 and tonight comes the second round before the first elimination show tomorrow night. Who will be the first to go? It is still really anybody’s game at this point – there’s no clear cut winner this season like there has been in season’s past which is making for a much more exciting season of “Dancing With The Stars”. So how did everyone do tonight?
Ingo Rademacher & Kym Johnson: Ingo and Kym took on the quick step and for a guy who doesn’t have a lot of dancing experience he was fantastic. The judges were divided over the performance and they scored a 20 and combined with last week’s score they ended up with a 40 out of 60.
Dorothy Hamill & Tristan MacManus: This week they got the jive and with Dorothy’s injury they were a little worried about their performance and with good reason. They missed a few of their moves and it was difficult for them to get back into the dance after that point and it was a bit of a mess. The judges gave them a 15 giving them a total of 36 out of 60.
Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff: These two were given a jazz dance to do tonight and we totally loved this dance number, especially compared to last week’s performance that was a little off (likely because of his surgery). The judges really enjoyed it saying that it was a lot of fun with charm and energy. They scored a 23 giving them a total score of 43 out of 60.
Victor Ortiz & Lindsay Arnold: Victor and Lindsay got the jive and his frustrations with the dance really got to him, and it showed in the dance. He looked like he was really thinking about the dance moves as he was doing them and it felt a like a we were watching an exercise routine more then a jive. The judges weren’t crazy about the dance and they received a 18 tonight giving them a total of 36 out of 60.
Wynonna Judd & Tony Dovolani: They were given the quick step and we were hoping to see Wynonna really rip up the dance floor, but this dance was a little slow for this type of dance. The judges love her, but weren’t exactly blown away with the routine. They ended up with a score of 18 giving them a 36 out of 60.
Zendaya & Val Chmerkovskiy: Zendaya and Val were given the jive and she was fantastic once again, but it’s not really surprising considering she has a pretty heavy dance back ground. The judges were completely in love with their routine and gave them a 26 leaving them with a 50 out of 60 – the best score of the night by far.
Andy Dick & Sharna Burgess: They were given jazz as their dance and their version of “Alice in Wonderland’s” mad tea party was really fun and by far our favorite dance of the night – not because it was perfect, but because it was so outlandish. The judges liked it a lot more then last week’s number and they gave them a 20 giving them a combined score of 37 out of 60.
Sean Lowe & Peta Murgatroyd: These two were given the jive to do this week and while we feel it was better then last week, it still felt a little stiff to us. The judges liked it okay, except for Len who felt there wasn’t enough focus on the dance and too much on the theme. They were given a score of 20 and combined with last week’s that’s a total of 39 out of 60.
Alexandra Raisman & Mark Ballas: Alexandra and Mark took on the quick step and although the routine didn’t blow us away, it looked great and her footwork was really fantastic. The judges felt that she’s already growing as a dancer in just one week and gave them a score of 24 giving them a score of 45 out of 60.
Lisa Vanderpump & Gleb Savchenko: They took on the jive and we were a little disappointed with the dance – it was sort of wooden and was missing a certain something. The judges called Gleb out on the little lift he did and they ended up with a score of 18 leaving them with a score of 36 out of 60.
D.L. Hughley & Cheryl Burke: D.L. and Cheryl got the quickstep and after last week’s performance we are hoping that D.L. can step it up, otherwise he’s probably going home. He definitely improved from last week’s performance, but it’s still not at the same level as most of the other contestants. They received a score of 16 giving them a 28 out of 60.
Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough: Shocker Derek and Kellie closed the show with a jazz routine and while the dance was really cool and futuristic it almost felt like a contemporary dance more then a jazz dance. Carrie Ann gave them a standing ovation and the other judges loved it too. They got a score of 26 leaving them with a 47 out of 60.
Are you worried about Dorothy, Victor and Wynonna after tonight’s scores on “Dancing With The Stars” 16? Leave us a comment and tell us which couple gave the best performance of the night in your opinion.

I am all ready for that Vanderpump lady to go home first and Wynona next. I get a kick out of Andy Dick and D.L. Kellie Pickler is the bomb.
