‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: Dexter gets a new neighbor in ‘One Tree Hill’ alum

When “Dexter” season 8 premieres on Showtime this coming summer, we’re going to see a number of new characters; not only that, but one of them will literally be living a stone’s throw away from one Dexter Morgan.

According to a new report from TV Guide, former “One Tree Hill” star Bethany Joy Lenz is going to be moving in to the apartment next to Dexter’s, and the character is a former finance executive who is trying to settle down and have a much quieter life after years of stress. When you pair up the words “quieter life” with Dexter, you know that there is going to be some friction that comes as a result. After all, there is not much at all quiet when it comes to what this man has going on with his day-to-day life, stopping in at all hours and also having a sister in Deb who he’s dragged into everything.

Bethany will make her first appearance in the fourth episode of the season, and it’s unclear how long she will be sticking around. Ultimately, the one thing we can’t imagine her being is a potential love interest for Dexter, mostly because we’ve already seen with Rita that relationships with normal, non-killer people tend to work out very badly for him. (Then again, relationships with the likes of Hannah McKay and Lumen have only worked out slightly better, at least in the sense that everyone is still alive.)
