‘Glee’ season 4 song spoilers: Chris Colfer, Naya Rivera, and more take on ABBA
While we questioned whether or not Radiohead’s “Creep” is truly a “guilty pleasure” song when previewing Thursday’s upcoming episode of “Glee” season 4, you can hardly say the same thing about another hit being performed in ABBA’s “Mamma Mia.” This song is really as ridiculous as they come: it’s theatrical, gives way to lavish costumes, and it is truly the sort of song that few people want to admit to loving (but quite a few people do).
For this episode, the performance of the song is really going to be a group affair. While Rachel (Lea Michele) tackles some of the vocals in the early going, both of her New York friends in Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Santana (Naya Rivera) each end up taking part at some point. In addition to that, the characters are joined in the performance by a group of folks over at McKinley High, including Blaine (Darren Criss), Sam (Chord Overstreet), Marley (Melissa Benoist), and Kitty (Becca Tobin). We’re guessing this is one of those performances that flashes back and forth between the two worlds, since there’s really nothing that we seeing bringing these two together at the moment.
Ultimately, the arrangement of the song itself is really just about identical to the ABBA classic, with there not really being much in the way of variation here at all. However, if you do love the original, you are probably going to love this version just as much. “Glee” does the more theatrical performances very well, and this is much more in their lane than something completely out of left field like “Creep.”

Are you sure there is Chris Colfer singing!? To my disappointment, I don’t think so.
