‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: Who’s the new face at Miami Metro?
While the folks have “Dexter” have said already that they are not going to be interested in replacing Maria LaGuerta in any way following her tragic death, even if we do end up seeing a character take over her job as Captain, there is still one inevitable question that has to be raised: doesn’t the force at Miami Metro have to bring someone new in eventually? After all, in between the death of her as well as Mike Anderson, they are feeling a little understaffed with Quinn (who is often MIA to begin with), Batista (who may be retiring), and Deb (likely dealing with the fact internally that she shot her longtime boss) running the ship.
This is all why the following news make sense. (Spoilers ahead!) According to show site Dexter Daily, there is a new recurring role coming up named Thomas Bishop. All we know about the part right now is that he will be the latest detective to join the squad, that he will first show up in the sixth episode of the season, and he will then be a part of the show leading up to the season / series finale. (Showtime has not confirmed which, though the latter still seems like the top possibility unless something changes.)
Will this character play a part in taking Dexter Morgan down? It’s really too early to speculate when you are talking about a guy that nobody really knows. The fact that we are starting to hear about roles appearing later in the season does give us some hope that there could be some news breaking about possible returning faces. (Please, producers: can’t we have another episode with Julia Stiles?)
