‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Lea Michele’s Rachel continues her Broadway dream

Lea MicheleAre we about to suddenly see “Glee” become a little bit more like another TV show set in New York City in “Smash”? Based on some of the lasting casting news coming out now, it certainly seems as though this is possible.

According to E! News, producers are currently looking to cast a character who is none other than a Broadway producer, and they will first appear in the 19th episode of the season (which is just two after “Feud” airing on Thursday night). Not only is this significant, but you better be ready for this character to stick around for a while, at least as we near what should be an eventful season finale that could feature everything from Regionals to some Broadway auditions.

So what musical are we talking about here? More than likely, it is “Funny Girl” that we are focusing on, since this was what was touched on a little earlier in the season when Kurt called Lea Michele’s Rachel out for being a little bit of a diva ever since she started to immerse herself in the world of NYADA. While she may be shaken right now courtesy of a possible pregnancy and what is going on with Brody, she’s not going to be down on herself forever. As for whether or not she actually lands the part in the Broadway show, that is an entirely different story. (Personally, we’d be surprised that she lands something like this so soon out of the gate, especially since her Barbra Streisand worship has already been so well-documented.

Who do you want to see in this role, and do you think it would be either exciting or unrealistic for Rachel to end up getting her dream part on Broadway so quickly? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can also check out a performance from Naya Rivera for Thursday’s episode over at the link here.
