‘Arrow’ spoilers: Scoop on Seth Gabel’s return (and the Black Canary)
As we near the end of PaleyFest 2013, the cast and producers of “Arrow” sat down on Saturday for what was at its best a candid, informative discussion about the superhero show. It’s clear that the actors and the producers behind the show care deeply about the source material, and they are looking to make the end product as strong as they possibly can.
One moment that just about everyone is looking forward to is the eventual transformation of Laurel into the Black Canary, but based off of what executive producer Marc Guggenheim said, this is one story in particular that needs to be given its proper attention in order for it to believable in the world of the show:
“[The transformation] has to be earned, it has to be real … The inciting incidents have to have dramatic reality to them. We don’t want to disservice Laurel or Oliver by saying she could have a bad day, put on fishnets, and start killing people.”
Ultimately, a similar statement was made about Roy Harper, which is a character that everyone is looking to in order to eventually become something more than he currently is.
As for some other things to look forward to, expect to see at least one more episode featuring Seth Gabel as The Count before the season is over, and you already know that Jessica De Gouw will be back as The Huntress for the show’s return on March 20. In addition to these two names, it was teased that another genre favorite is going to be coming on board an upcoming episode … but for now, the name involved is being kept a secret.
In case you haven’t watched the first promo yet for the return of The Huntress, you can do so by heading on over to the link here.
