‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4: New ‘Originals’ pic with Joseph Morgan, Claire Holt

If you are a diehard fan of “The Vampire Diaries,” then you may be familiar already with the news that the upcoming spin-off series “The Originals” is already in the process of filming. This episode will air on April 21, and serves as a means in which to launch the show should The CW decide to pick it up for fall.

While the first photo to the left from the filming of the show does not really give away anything, it does at least show that Claire Holt is going to be a major part of the series moving forward. She has not been officially announced yet as a series regular, but can they really have a show called “The Originals” without her?

So when will we find out whether or not this series gets to have a life on network TV? So long as nothing too crazy happens, it could be as early as when the executives have a chance to watch this completed episode in the weeks ahead. The latest time in which the show could be picked up is May, which is when the network will have their upfront presentation and the decisions on all major programming for the year will end up being made. Out of all of the shows that the network is considering, this is clearly the one that is the biggest lock to return for at least 13 episodes (and maybe more) in the fall.
