ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2 spoilers: More romance on the way for Daniel

If you have felt at times that “Revenge” season 2 has been lacking in the romance department, we certainly feel you pain; and luckily, it will be coming back soon with Daniel Grayson front and center. Hopefully, this time around it will not be with someone like Ashley who cheated on him with his father of all people, and if it is Emily, let’s hope that it is with some sort of motivation in mind outside of just completely using him.

In teasing his upcoming romantic arc in the weeks ahead to TVLine, here is what Josh Bowman had to say following the declaration that there will be something ahead involving him and a female character:

“[Daniel is] changing quite drastically as a character … The Initiative story starts to wrap up, which is I think a good thing, and we’re getting back to the roots of who each of the characters are and why they’re there — why Emily’s here, more importantly — and Daniel gets involved.”

First of all, can we all give a massive round of applause to the news that the Initiative storyline is ending? This has been the show’s most tiresome and disconnected storyline from this perspective, since it really takes away from what made this show so interesting to begin with: having Emily Thorne interact with all of these wealthy residents of the Hamptons, who did not have some other mysterious organization floating around.

Luckily, we are not going to be waiting too much longer now for “Revenge” to return to TV: new episodes resume on Sunday night, and we’ll have some more coverage of that (including some sneak peeks) in the days ahead.
