ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: Who is Fitz’s newest source of concern?

ScandalYes, we are really just as sad as you are that “Scandal” season 2 will not be on the air again with new episodes until over halfway through March, but perhaps we have something now that will help ease the pain: a detail about what sort of trouble that President Fitzgerald Grant is going to find himself in next. (Yes, this seems to be a man who cannot avoid trouble no matter how hard he tries.)

According to a new report from TVLine, the latest troublemaker that we are going to be seeing is something that Presidents have gone through in the past: Supreme Court nominees who end up being far more trouble than anyone realized when they were first appointed. The character’s name is currently unknown, but he will be played by someone with political TV experience already in “Commander in Chief” alum Tim Halligan. He will have some pretty gigantic secrets that will become unveiled during his appointment process, and these could end up hurting his career in a pretty significant way.

After the story that spiraled out of control during the first half of the season revolving Olivia and Fitz’s affair, and with him nearly deciding to lose everything in order to be with Kerry Washington’s character, we really have a hard time imagining at the moment that we are going to be seeing Fitz taken down by something that a good many Presidents in the past have gone through … though possibly not on the same level that Fitz is here.

What sort of stories do you want to see from this President moving forward to the remainder of this season? If you want to check out the first video of Lisa Edelstein on the show’s upcoming return to TV, you can do so by heading on over to the link here.
