‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: Abby Elliott plays with fire

Remember how Jeanette was shown on “How I Met Your Mother” in a flash-forward lighting something on fire? Well, it looks like this may be happening very soon based on the latest photo that we’ve happened to catch courtesy of the upcoming eighteenth episode of the season entitled “Weekend At Barney’s.”

This photo features Abby Elliott’s character front and center, but what seems to be far more interesting is the fact that she seems to be lighting up Barney’s playbook and then blowing it up into oblivion. (But wait … isn’t the playbook already destroyed? It’s possible that Ted had another copy, or that Barney managed to salvage it somehow. Maybe we missed something, so feel free to let us know.)

As for what sparks this sort of major meltdown, there is really one simple explanation for it: Ted must break up with Jeanette. Right? Why else would she want to do something like this? Then again, we are looking at a woman who locked herself in Ted’s room convinced that there was something going on between him and Lily. In other words, anything is possible when it comes to this woman.

By the time this episode ends, we should at least have a pretty good idea at where the series is going to head leading up to the season finale in May. There are only five episodes between this one and what has already been confirmed to be the wedding between Barney and Robin (at least pending some last-minute funny business from the writers and producers).
