‘Homeland’ season 3 spoilers: Morena Baccarin on possible future for Jess
How secretive are the executive producers of “Homeland” being at the moment? Let’s just say that even one of the show’s primary stars is having a rather difficult time figuring out just what is going to happen.
Speaking as a part of a new spread with the British version of GQ, Morena Baccarin admitted that she was still not even 100% confident her character of Jess Brody was even going to return for season 3, mostly because the writers and the other folks behind the scenes had not really told her much of anything at the time in which this shoot was conducted:
“I don’t know! I’ve asked and harassed but I haven’t gotten any information … But I don’t think anyone is safe.”
Given that there is some delay between a shoot like this and its publication, it is likely that Baccarin knows at this point whether or not Jess will be back for more action … and we strongly suspect that she will. Given how it was revealed recently that Diego Klattenhoff was no longer going to be a series regular as Jess’ lover Mike, we would imagine that a similar announcement would have come out then about Baccarin’s role if she was not staying on board. Plus, she would have then had enough time to go out into pilot season and find a new role for herself.
Ultimately, we suspect that Jess will be back as she tries to pick up the pieces of her life following the accusations that her estranged husband was behind the bombing in the finale. We don’t necessarily expect her to be a part of every episode, but given how the finale still set up Damian Lewis’ character as an integral part of the story moving forward, we have a hard time imagining that Jess will be left behind completely.
