‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Demi Lovato and Fifth Harmony

There’s not as much going on in the world of “The X Factor” USA at the moment as there was during the great Britney Spears judging debate from earlier this week, but we nonetheless do have a pair of important stories now to share … whether they be all about Fifth Harmony’s fan support or just what Demi Lovato is planning on doing over the next several months.

Demi news – Let’s start with the show’s mentor / judge, largely because so much has been made over the past 48 hours about her supposedly living in a sober living establishment over the past year as a way to maintain balance in her life. This is admirable if true, but it’s also really none of our business and it’s not worth focusing on. Instead, we want to place some emphasis on the fact that Demi has been working hard in the studio lately preparing her next studio album.

In all likelihood, Demi will put out a follow-up to “Unbroken” a little later in the year, and it would definitely make a great deal of sense for her to do so at a time when she can come on this show and give a performance. If it’s not out by September, we’re sure that it will be in November.

As for Fifth Harmony … Just in case you want to keep supporting the girl group, we recently got a tip via Twitter that the girls are up for the Next Pop Superstar of 2013 over at PopDust. You can vote for them here until Monday, where it will be revealed if the ladies have won the title.

We don’t know much about the group’s plans to record an album yet, but hopefully we are going to find out some more information soon given that Simon Cowell has already said he will support them.
