‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4: Joseph Morgan ‘Originals’ spinoff in the works
Just in case you did not have enough of “The Vampire Diaries” over on The CW, the network has now come forward with what has to be an idea that a good many fans of the show would want to sink their teeth into: a possible extra hour this fall! And this time around, we are looking at a hybrid played by Joseph Morgan who will be front and center.
According to Deadline, the network has ordered a backdoor pilot for “The Originals,” a show that is going to revolve around Klaus’ adventures in New Orleans, a place that he first helped to really get off of the ground centuries ago with the help of a dear friend by the name of Marcel. There’s no word yet on some of the other characters who would potentially appear here, but we have a feeling that Claire Holt (Rebekah) would almost surely be making the jump, as well, given the title. Nathan Buzolic (Kol) is also a possibility, while we assumed that the long-term viability of Daniel Gillies would depend on his role on the CTV drama “Saving Hope” (which has taken him away from “The Vampire Diaries” for a stretch of time this year already).
What we can tell you for sure is that Phoebe Tonkin will be reprising her role as Hayley in this episode (which is going to air on April 25), and she will co-star on the new show with Morgan. It is currently unclear as for just what her role will be.
At the end of the day, we can’t think of a more perfect situation for all of the actors involved at the moment. The Originals were getting a little marginalized at times this season, and “The Vampire Diaries” needed to move on. However, Klaus is such a captivating character that he could anchor his own show without a problem, especially when you have a history as rich as his. (We suppose, though, that fans of Caroline and Klaus may be a little bummed.)
What do you think about this idea as a whole? We want to hear your thoughts below! If you want to read some more “Vampire Diaries” season 4 scoop regarding Klaus and Stefan, you can do so over here.

As a klarolina fan i am bummed it is to bad she isn’t going with him but i am more confused instead of the show backing off klarolina they seem to be moving more towards it. I have no idea where they are going with these two but after last night this is why they r so popular.

I essentially believe that this an innovative piece of pre-production. Having ‘The Originals’ do their own show spreads the creativity of The Vampire Diaries team (cast, writers etc). If it is to go head with the production, we can not wait to see what the writers have to offer.
