‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Haley Reinhart
There’s some great stuff happening now in the “American Idol” world, and it includes the likes of past contestants taking on exciting projects, doing good things for others, and of course just having a good time performing.
We begin, though, with some more comments from Adam Lambert about what has to be one of his most exciting gigs of the entire year: getting the opportunity to serve as the host for the upcoming VH1 “Divas” special airing on Sunday nights. He will be performing a legendary song by Madonna (with the artist’s permission), but he also will be allowing himself to have a little bit of fun courtesy of some scripted moments … including a sketch that he filmed leading up to the special airing.
Speaking in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter on this very subject, here is what the singer had to say about just what we can expect to see from him and a certain “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star in NeNe Leakes:
“We’ve pre-recorded a sketch that’s quite funny … I haven’t seen the final edit yet so I hope I’m actually funny … But we had so much fun filming it so I think people will get a kick out of it.”
We will of course have more from Adam’s show on VH1 by tomorrow morning, at the absolute latest.
Haley performs in Las Vegas – Haley Reinhart has spent the past few days taking in a residency at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, and it is a nice opportunity for us to see that she is not letting the end of her time with Interscope slow her down or depress her in any way. As a matter of fact, all this performance of “Bennie and the Jets” does for us is make us remember yet again that she has to be one of the most unique and talented people to come out of the show.
In other words, she’s going to be just fine.
Carrie gives back – This is just a nice gesture by Carrie Underwood, who decided during her show in Des Moines, Iowa that since she was not able to give the best performance possible, she would be giving back all of the money from her concert to the local community. Her illness later caused her to postpone a few shows, that way she can get back to being 100% soon.

Sorry to hear the Haley is struggling. What’s with the US music industry lately? Real talent and individual artistry aren’t getting their deserved support in an artist’s fledging years. Wish her all the best and success. Guess I need to go buy some more of her music just to show my support.
That said, I’m a Glambert and I’m sure my DNA was altered forever and for the better at Adam’s live performances over the last few years.

I think Haley will be around for a long time also, she is just that good. Sorry to hear about Carrie U’s illness I hope she is alright. It’s a wonder these performers have any immune systems with their workhorse ethics. I got my popcorn all ready for Adam’s VH1DIVAS party tonight.

Haley Reinhart is a strong willed fighter. It reminds me of the seventies, when all singers and bands struggled to be different then all others. She is in that same mode, wanting her own mark in the industry. Her talents are something I have never seen before, and I’ve been around for five decades. To some folks, she is going to take some getting use to. Oh, say what you will, I think she will be around for a long while.
