‘The X Factor’ USA: Emblem3 attacks editing; Fifth Harmony talks song choice

Emblem3To help get you prepared a little bit more for Wednesday night’s “X Factor” USA performance show, here are a pair of stories floating around out there that are really all about one team: Simon Cowell’s groups.

For our first example of a rather interesting story coming out of this category, who knew that Emblem3 was so upset about the way in which they have been presenting on the show? It’s felt for a while like the producers have been desperate to only show these guys as the typical Californias who like to take their shirts off, but also have little substance behind them. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Drew Chadwick explains that he hopes he “never [has] to do reality TV again,” and goes on to describe some of the ridiculous stuff that the people behind the show have been trying to get him to do to use for footage later:

“[They told us to] start talking while we were out there about how this competition compares to catching that big wave … Please. Can you get any more cliché? Seriously. The worst part is, I say something inspiring and they won’t use it, but I’ll say something like ‘Carly sucks’ and they’ll use that. They make me look like an idiot.”

It is refreshing to hear these comments from Chadwick largely in the sense that it shows that the guys really are more than producers are making them out to be, and now we know just who to blame for these guys coming across as relatively soulness.

On a different note (musical pun intended), Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony also told the website that the two songs her group will be performing Thursday should give everyone at home a better idea of just what sort of music the group wants to eventually showcase with an album, so we are hoping this translates to meaning that there will at least be one uptempo song in the mix. The group, after all, had their best performance of the season last week with “Give Your Heart a Break.”

Are you rooting for either one of these groups? If you want to see how we’ve placed them in our “X Factor” USA rankings for the time being, you can do so here.
