‘Private Practice’ series finale: Shonda Rhimes, Taye Diggs say farewell
Even though we do still have a little while to wait until the series finale of “Private Practice” airs early next year, some of the actors associated with the show (plus its own creator) are already speaking out about the final scenes on the landmark “Grey’s Anatomy” spin-off being shot.
We’ve assembled a few assorted goodbye messages below, and you can be sure to check them out along with what made be one of the saddest photos ever for longtime fans of the show (and to think, we don’t even know anything about the plot yet).
Shonda Rhimes – “I tried really hard not to cry but…then I decided to stop trying and go with it. #PrivatePractice #goodbye”
Taye Diggs – “Last day of work on the series Private Practice. Thank you, cast and crew. Thank you, Shonda. Thank you, fans. What a run. Anyone hiring?”
Paul Adelstein – “Last day of PP… No more being made pretty and having nice men bring me coffee #PrivatePractice #SpoiledRotten”
KaDee Strickland – “Such an honor 2 read all the well-wishes! Thanks 2 all the dedicated “Private Practice” fans! Can’t wait 4 u 2 c the rest of the season!”
Kate Walsh – “Feeling the love tw’eeps. Thank you for everything.”
The decision was handed down to end the show a little earlier in the fall, and it came after some of the ratings dropped to new lows. Even with that happening, “Private Practice” season 6 has a whole been very entertaining. The episodes have maintained a certain level of quality, and the limited amount of time left has in some ways enabled Rhimes to better flex some of her own creative muscles better than ever before.
If you want to go back and read some more recent “Private Practice” content (just to get yourself even more emotional right about now), you can do so over at the link here.

Can not believe the ratings dropped. best actors, great relevant stories. Always interesting and entertaining. So sad to know it’s ending.

I agree…also because of some unknown reason Kate Walsh decided not to renew her contract, I think they could have carried on without her…it’s horrible that they decided to end it
