‘Glee’ season 4 preview: Take a listen to Cory Monteith sing ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’
Lately there has been a lot of focus on the relationships (or broken hearts) from our favorite Glee club members (and alumni), especially after last week’s episode of “Glee” season 4 where Kurt called Blaine and said that he missed him and still loved him, then asked him to come to New York to see him, in which Blaine happily accepted through a stream of tears.
One of the main focuses of the show has always been on the characters and what is going on in their lives, but with so much drama happening with everyone’s personal life lately, fans have almost forgotten about the singing and hearing some of their favorite songs redone by the “Glee” cast. On Thursday’s upcoming episode called “Swan Song” there will be plenty of drama as Sam and Brittany share a kiss (and Brittana shippers subsequently kick their TV set over), but there will also be lots of great new music like the Crowded House classic “Don’t Dream It’s Over.”
On the “Swan Song” episode, we will also see Finn contemplating his future now that Sectionals are over and Rachel will be working hard to get ready for the NYADA winter showcase. As for Kurt well he is going to get very lucky and will have a second shot at an audition that he really wants.
Be sure to tune in on Thursday, December 6 at 9 p.m. on Fox for an all new episode of “Glee” season 4, but if you can’t wait that long feel free to check out the video below of the Glee rendition of the Crowded House hit “Don’t Dream It’s Over”. Beautiful song…so inspirational. This is on the epic level of “Don’t Stop Believing!” Good job Glee cast and especially Cory Montieth. Performances like this is what the show is all about. I like this season and the challenges the characters are facing. Even though I am a Finchel fan, I like for Finn and Rachel to be apart for a while. It will make their eventual reunion so much fun. Many people complain about story lines and such, but I just want to get lost in a story for 60 minutes and this show does it for me.

Sometimes a show destroys itself in a way that makes the show unrecoverable. Glee is that show for me. Carter you do a great job of trying to sell what Ryan Murphy is dishing out but just like Barnum and Bailey the devil is in the details. It is ironic that the one quality that Cory Monteith possesses is the thing that is lacking in the show as a whole and that is the ability to portray a character rather than a personality. This song proves just how lucky Ryan Murphy was to allow others to talk him into giving this man the role that stirs the glee universe. Cory has always maintained a classy approach to the show and an air of dignity that sadly is missing in the dealings of the showrunner himself when dealing with the media and the fans. I feel the only two actors on glee that I have grown to respect happen to be Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith not because of ability but because I feel they have used their status, whatever that may be, to promote the best qualities of what an artist should be. The future is always the unforeseen horizon and both these gentlemen know the shelf life of glee was always going to be brief. I do not feel the character of Rachel Berry anymore because I do not feel that there is acting going on and that all I see is Lea Michele displaying her personality and we are all finally understanding what that entails. The vast pr machine that is behind her and conversely Ryan Murphy himself has turned my love for a show into a confusing mess of what the hell is going on. I will not reward lousy story telling will loyalty and cheapening the show brand of glee is why I have passed on this season. The real ironic part is despite whatever ratings this show is going to get fox has already said you will be getting a season 5 so the whole exercise is moot. Carter you have a nice day.
