‘Game of Thrones’: Get hyped for season 3 with character histories (video)
On February 19, “Game of Thrones” fans are going to have a serious reason to celebrate when the Blu-Ray boxed set for season 2 is released. However, we now have something that should not only help you survive the wait, but get you a little bit excited for the season 3 premiere on March 31: a look at one of the character histories that will be a part of the season 2 collection.
In the video below released by HBO, Will Simpson has crafted a bit of an animated history for not only one of the show’s most-popular supporting characters in Ygritte (Rose Leslie), but also all Wildings in general. For those of you who have not read much of the George R.R. Martin books, it is a nice insight into how a certain group of people Beyond the Wall live, their true opinion on “southerners,” and how they take living off of the land to a new level. It also explains how Wildings traditionally choose mates, which could make for something rather interesting if Jon Snow and Ygritte ever get together.
We know that Ygritte will be spending a great deal of time alongside Kit Harrington’s character during season 3, as she and her other Wildings take her to meet the King Beyond the Wall in Mance Rayder (Cirian Hinds). These scenes should hopefully also give us some sort of greater insight into the lives of these characters and how they have some form of structured ruling hierarchy; but if you don’t have to wait that long to find out some more backstory, why would you?
