Jersey Shore Family Vacation reunion show coming to MTV (promo)

Jersey Shore Family Vacation

We weren’t quite sure that a Jersey Shore Family Vacation was a show that would ever happen. While the original Jersey Shore cast has reunited here and there, there wasn’t any sign that said reunion would be permanent or translate into a longer series.

Now, it seems as though it’s going to happen! Jersey Shore Family Vacation is going to premiere at some point in 2018, and it will feature seven of the MTV show’s eight primary cast members: Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio,” Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Magro, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. The only person missing from the show is Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, who was a part of some recent reunions including a lengthy Burger King commercial.

What should be exciting about this show for Jersey Shore fans is that this is a chance to see some of your old favorites again. Yet, we don’t know what is going to make this Jersey Shore Family Vacation better than the original series. With these people in different places of their lives (most are in marriages, serious relationships and have children), are they really going to want to get drunk and act crazy at the beach? We hate to say it, but the whole purpose of Jersey Shore was watching people act crazy and behave badly. Now, several members of the cast are now parents and have responsibilities outside of being a part of a reality show. This is going to influence how all of these people act. They were already becoming self-aware at the end of the original series’ run and some of the cast members (like Snooki) have pushed hard to change their image around. Is watching Snooki be a good mom really entertaining television? And what are we going to do without new Ronnie and Sammy fights? It’s not going to be the same and sometimes the memory of what was is better than dragging the cast back out for a less entertaining version of the show.

Jersey Shore Family Vacation was originally announced on Monday night during the premiere of Floribama Shore — basically, MTV’s attempt to revive the series in a different location with a different group of young people. Maybe that’s where you go if you watch people act crazy and all sorts of ridiculous. Time for some new blood!
