Prepare for Poldark season 3 on PBS with new Aidan Turner teaser
The new promo below via the network’s Masterpiece label offers up a sweeping view of some of the story that is coming up; for the sake of this article, we wanted to focus in on a few different events to watch for — in the event you are on the fence about diving in for whatever reason.
Can Ross and Demelza right their wrongs? – At the end of the second season Ross was unfaithful, choosing to be with Elizabeth in what is viewed to be one of the show’s most controversial scenes. Ross and his wife need to pick up the pieces … though that may be especially hard given Elizabeth’s pregnancy. It’s not correct to call this dynamic a love triangle per se, but there are clearly things that are coming up in the third season that Ross cannot walk away from, even if he may want to.
George is still George – Warleggan is the most wicked man on the show — or so you’ll think in the early days of the season. (Someone may give him a run for his money later.) Rest assured that trolling Ross and trying to make his life miserable is still of the utmost priority this year. Along the way, it is possible that he may find himself a few other targets, as well.
Will things be better for Caroline and Dwight Enys? – The feelings that these two share are clear, but there are some major bumps in the road that they will need to overcome. Watch out for those in the early episodes of the season.
New faces – One of the most exciting things about this third season is the expansion of the show’s universe. You will see the arrival of Demelza’s two brothers Drake and Sam Carne this season, and learn that they are coming to visit her with a very specific set of goals in mind. Meanwhile, be prepared to also meet Elizabeth’s cousin Morwenna, who will be the Governess to Geoffrey Charles Poldark in the early going this season. Obviously she has a much greater role than this, but it would be wrong to give away this much about the story so early (and CarterMatt likes to tease things, but we have never been a very spoilery news site)! Let’s just say that she’ll be a very sympathetic character throughout the year.
Poldark season 3 arrives Sunday, October 1 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time on PBS. We will continue to offer up coverage along the way; if you loved the first two seasons, this will be a feast for your eyes, ears, and probably your tear ducts by the end of it.

I wish PBS would broadcast the previous seasons ahead like they did with Downton Abbey. Lots of us are old and don’t remember all the plot twists. Poldark is a wonder show. The acting is magnificent. It deserves more from PBS!!!!!
